In May 2026, the CHE community gathered at the 4th Floor Exhibit Hall of the Museum Building for the General Assembly of the College of Home Economics. This event marks the affirmation of Professor Joanne R. Bantang, PhD, LPT, as the new Dean of the College of Home Economics.

The Department of Home Economics Education successfully concluded its AY 2025-2026 Home Economics Education Caravan on March 5, 2026, with Grade 11 students at UP Integrated School. The event featured department members sharing the expansive professional landscape of the Bachelor of Science in Home Economics (BSHE) program.
Empowering Lives through Home Economics: The HEELS Webinar Series
Organized by the University of the Philippines Circle of Home Economists (UP CHEc), in partnership with the Department of Home Economics Education, the Home Economics Lecture Series (HEELS) addresses contemporary challenges through the lens of Home Economics. The series provided educators and participants with practical life skills. This semester’s series is focused on navigating the digital information age to implementing sustainable food systems.
