The BSHE Student Experience
Students of BSHE engage in various, varied, worthwhile, and fun class experiences, including consumer testing, entrepreneurship practicum, teaching practicum, food service practicum, community training, thesis, and research activities.
They also work in and experience fun-filled DHEEd projects and activities, such as orientation for new students, College foundation celebration, HE career talk, lantern making, graduation party, and submission of contributions to the What’s In Your Kitchen? Project of the Department.
Our students are also able to present research papers in both local and international academic conferences as well as publish research papers in reputable research journals, such as the Journal of PATHESCU, Inc., ARAHE Journal, and International Journal of Home Economics.
The UP Circle of Home Economists
The UP Circle of Home Economists, or UP CHEc, is the home organization of students of the BSHE program.
Vision
UP Circle of Home Economists envisions itself to set forth professional Home Economists who embody the Seven Educative Goals of the College of Home Economics as well as to provide nationwide awareness of the importance of College of Home Economics, specifically BS Home Economics in the well-being of individuals and of Filipino families.
Mission
The purpose of this organization is to set venue for people to appreciate, understand and recognize the importance of Home Economics and the advancement it brings to related disciplines and programs.
Objectives
The main objective of the organization is to serve Filipino families, especially the underserved, and the country as a whole by honing the holistic formation of its members. This leads to the specific objectives of the organization:
a. To promote interaction, cooperation, and unity among the faculty, the students and the alumni of the Department of Home Economics Education;
b. To engage the members in activities that will enhance their social and intellectual development;
c. To tap leadership potentials among the students of the Bachelor of Science in Home Economics program
