UP Diliman Centennial Professorial Chair Awardees (2025 Cycle)

The Department of Home Economics Education is proud to announce and celebrate the esteemed recognition granted upon two distinguished faculty members of the department, who have been named recipients of the UP Diliman Centennial Professorial Chair Award for the 2025 cycle. This prestigious award honors their exceptional contributions to research, advanced degrees, and mentorship, all of which significantly contribute to the advancement of teaching in the University.
Professor Joanne R. Bantang, PhD
Recognized for her impactful research on consumer behavior, Prof. Bantang’s work titled "A Study on Price Sensitivity to a Product and its Attributes of Selected Filipino Consumers" was published in the Journal of ARAHE Vol. 31, No. 1, 2024 with Asst. Prof. Helenay Ann C. Ariola as the main author.
Professor Consuelo T. Chua, PhD
Prof. Chua’s research on family dynamics and quality of life was highlighted through her article “Family Quality of Life of Young Cohabiters in a Barangay in Zumarraga, Samar,” published in the 2023 Volume 22 issue of the PATHESCU Journal, with Asst. Prof. Lourdes Betic-Belas of UPLB serving as the main author.
This recognition shows their outstanding scholarly achievements and their unwavering dedication to mentoring students and advancing research that benefits both the society and the university.
