Prof. Consuelo T. Chua and Assoc. Prof Aurora S. Llige participated in a Certificate Course on Effective Technical Writing for Policymaking held on November 26 to 28, 2025, at the University Hotel in UP Diliman. This course is offered by the Center for Policy and Executive Development (CPED) under the UP National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP NCPAG).
The three-day course was designed to equip technical staff, local government officers, and policy support personnel with practical skills in crafting clear, concise, and well-structured policy documents. The course also introduced intensive methods for translating data and research into actionable policy recommendations, integrating digital tools to enhance policymaking processes, such as the ethical use of AI. It also featured interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, and peer-learning opportunities, providing a holistic, thought-provoking platform for connecting with fellow professionals in governance and public policy.
As participants, Prof. Chua and Assoc. Prof. Llige joined their colleagues and other professionals from various government and non-government agencies. Their involvement aligned with CPED’s mission to promote ethical, strategic, and evidence-informed governance. By engaging in this certificate course, they helped in the process of using academic research as a framework to address the needs and challenges of society. It was a very fruitful experience they hope to share with their colleagues and students.
