Assistant Professor Nieva holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Ateneo de Manila University. Before this, she finished her degree in BS Home Economics from the University of the Philippines Diliman, and is presently taking up her Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the same university. Aside from these, she has also completed the Management Development Program of the Asian Institute of Management.
Asst. Prof. Nieva teaches courses on Consumer Education, Home Economics and Livelihood Education, Organization and Management of Technology in Home Economics and Livelihood Programs, and School Food Service Center Management.
Asst. Prof. Nieva has previously served as the Associate Dean of Central Colleges of the Philippines College of Business and Administration, Accountancy and Hotel and Tourism Management. She has also worked with the Bayan Academy Group of Foundations in implementing training programs and maintaining a good relationship with clients and donors. Aside from working in the academe, Asst. Prof. Nieva’s professional experience also includes extensive work in sales and marketing, and business development.
Asst. Prof. Nieva also has extensive experience with socio-civic groups. Since 2014, she has been a member and presently the Chairperson of the Advisory Council (Academe and Women Sector) for the Makati Philippine National Police. She has also served as a member of TESDA’s pool of Industry Experts in Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and Front Office from 2015 to 2022. Aside from this, she was also a member of the pool of consultants for DEPEd’s TLE (K-12) curriculum development.
Asst. Prof. Nieva is currently the Board Director and Secretary of the UP Home Economics Alumni Association and a committee member of the American Chamber of Commerce Business Leadership Program.
