DHEEd Faculty Members Receive Awards at the 26th PATHESCU Annual National Conference & Training

Last July 11-13, 2024, faculty members from the Department of Home Economics Education (DHEEd) and other departments of the College of Home Economics (CHE) participated in the 26th PATHESCU Inc. Annual National Conference and Training in Cagayan State University, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. At the conference, DHEEd faculty members were also recognized for their outstanding performance in the field.
The poster presentation for the research entitled “Filipino Family Content Creators: Case Studies on the Effects of Vlogging on the Family” authored by Charity Jessica Mae M. Del Carmen, a BSHE Batch 2023 alumna, and DHEEd Asst. Prof. Justine Trinidad won the Best Poster Award.
PATHESCU also recognized notable professionals through the PATHESCU Inc. Home Economics Professional Awards 2024. Several DHEEd faculty members were honored with these prestigious awards. Associate Professor Joanne R. Bantang received both the Service Award and the Extension Award, while Assistant Professor Justine Trinidad was honored with the Teaching Award. Both faculty members achieved the highest points among the awardees in their respective Extension and Teaching Awards categories.
The Conference was held successfully thanks to the efforts of the organizers, some of whom are CHE and DHEEd’s very own: Dr. Joanne R. Bantang, PATHESCU corporate secretary and organizer, Dr. Consuelo Chua, chair of the Oral and Poster Committee of the PATHESCU, and Dr. Maria Fema Aquino, PATHESCU president. Also present at the conference was CHE Dean, Dr. Shirley Guevarra, who served as panel discussant for the presentation on “Gaps between New and Current Curricula and State of Technology in various Home Economics areas (HEEd, TLE, Ind Tech).” CHE College Secretary, Asst. Prof. Lester John Lim also participated in the conference.
