On September 12, 2025, the Department of Home Economics Education (DHEEd) hosted an engaging event SARI-SARI: HEED FRESHMEN AND NEW STUDENTS ORIENTATION at the CDC Building, Room 307. This event was specifically organized for freshmen, new students, and upperclass HEEd students to kickstart their journey in the program.
The program began with opening remarks from Asst. Prof. Mary Justine Clarise A. Trinidad, followed by an ice breaker activity led by Dr. Aurora S. Llige. Dr. Joanne R. Bantang then provided an orientation to the BSHE program, giving students valuable insights into their academic journey. Keeshia Esguerra introduced the UP Circle of Home Economists, fostering a sense of community among students, while Halle Encina delivered the closing remarks. The event also featured a photo opportunity to capture memorable moments, complemented by snacks—cotton candy before the program and taho and buttered corn afterward.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for new students to familiarize themselves with the program, meet upperclassmen, and connect with peers and faculty.
We thank everyone who attended and made the event successful!
