Ania Iries M. Inot has been an essential part of the Department of Home Economics Education (DHEEd) as a Student Assistant (SA) since January 2025. What started as a suggestion from friends and a way to earn extra income quickly turned into a deeply rewarding chapter in her journey. 

Her journey with DHEEd officially began when Asst. Prof. Mary Justine Clarise A. Trinidad was the first to reach out for an interview. She was eventually accepted into the department, where she quickly fit right in. Working under the guidance of department mentors, Ania found a peaceful sanctuary within DHEEd. In an era where workplace burnout is common, DHEEd provided a healthy space where work stayed at the office, offering a true mental break from academic stress. The workload helped her discover her creative strengths in graphic design, and though coming up with fresh publicity materials was challenging at times, the experience gave her valuable outputs to feature in her job applications. While routine tasks like scanning were less exciting, she thoroughly enjoyed hands-on projects, such as setting up the Hapag-Kainan exhibit at the CHE Museum and assisting during school visits. “Masaya kasi nakakalabas sa office while still clocked in and hindi lang naka-focus sa screen,” she recalls. Even during busy academic periods like midterms and finals week, the warm environment of the department made her feel consistently supported. At one point, she states, “Sana SA nalang forever.”

DHEEd is deeply grateful for Ania’s hard work, vibrant energy, and dedication, and wishes her the absolute best in her future endeavors.
