The Home Economics Education Department is proud to announce that members of their esteemed faculty have been appointed to the University of the Philippines Diliman Research Ethics Board (UPD REB) Review Panel, effective from January 1 to December 31, 2025.
Members of the DHEEd faculty, namely Assoc. Prof. Joanne R. Bantang, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Consuelo T. Chua, PhD, Asst. Prof. Aurora S. Llige, PhD, and Asst. Prof. Mary Justine Clarise A. Trinidad, MHE, have been appointed to the UP Diliman Research Ethics Board (UPD REB) Review Panel as scientific, alternate members.

The UPD REB Review Panel is tasked with the function of the review of the study protocols in the research informed consent of the human subjects and their well-being in the research process, declare any conflict of interest, and other related duties and responsibilities. The faculty’s service by undertaking this role highlights the commitment of the department to uphold the highest ethical standards of research. Their service is crucial in ensuring that the study constantly champions the safety, welfare, and informed consent of all involved in the research process—researcher, participant, the environment, and even nonparticipants.
