The 27th Annual National Conference and Training of the Philippine Association for Technology in Home Economics of State Colleges and Universities (PATHESCU), held on July 16-18, 2026, was a significant event that highlighted the dedication and contribution of members of the Department of Home Economics Education (DHEEd).
Dr. Aurora S. Llige from the Department of Home Economics Education was invited to the inaugural edition of the Migration, Mobilities, and Environments Conference (MIMEC) held from May 10 to May 13, 2026, at the John Felice Rome Center of Loyola University Chicago in Rome, Italy. Dr. Llige presented her paper titled “The Role of Media in Constructing Identities and Narratives of the Filipino Diaspora” as part of her outputs under her PhD Incentive Award (Year 1) from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development.
The Department of Home Economics proudly celebrated World Home Economics Day 2025 with the theme, Tackling Overconsumption. The day was commemorated through a special online event organized by the Asian Regional Association for Home Economics (ARAHE).

Last December 14, Asst. Prof. Aurora S. Llige served as a resource speaker for a writing boot camp of the TriCollege PhD Philippine Studies entitled “The Reality of Writing and Overcoming Blocks” at the GT Toyota Hall of Wisdom.

Last August 2024, Asst. Prof. Aurora S. Llige earned her Ph.D. in International Studies Major in Development Cooperation from Ewha Womans University, South Korea. She was also awarded the Best Thesis Award for her dissertation entitled “Filipino Diaspora Engagement: Analyzing the Approach of the Government in Migration and Development.”
